Jacobs is seeking an IT Software Project Manager with a $5,000 sign on bonus in Reston, VA. Duties will include:
  • Serves  at the point of contact for the requirements of the software
  • Assist  the customer in deciding the best software needs for their particular  requirement
  • Ensure  that personnel tasks are completed within the deadlines, tasking guidance  from the Government is clear and unambiguous, and assist with potential  problems are pre-empted
  • Consult  and coordinate with the appropriate customer for problem resolution, task  scheduling, and new resource requirements and task clarification
  • Establish  and implement streamlined processes and procedures enabling the Contractor  to rapidly respond to requirements of the customer
  • Consult  with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs  and system requirements
  • Direct  daily operations of department by: analyzing workflow, establishing  priorities, developing standards and setting deadlines
  • PMs  make decisions that deal with the daily schedule and work to be  accomplished
  • Stay  abreast of various software that is being requested
  • Serves as the manager for complex projects and shall assist personnel in working with the Government's authorized representative and customer agency representatives
  • Under the guidance of Management, the candidate will be identifying, analyzing, defining, and coordinating user, customer and stakeholder needs and translate them into technical or operational requirements for the research, development, production and/or procurement of processes, systems and/or services
  • Will have multiple projects to manage from concept to delivery 
  • Other duties as assigned
 

  • Active TS/SCI polygraph required
  • Bachelors degree in a Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience and five (5) to eight (8) years of directly related experience or any equivalent combination of education, experience, training and certifications
  • Must be able to provide risks and develop mitigation strategies which are in compliance with government policies and procedures to executive and senior managers
  • Must be able to monitor, troubleshoot and identify challenges for both non-technical and technical issues throughout the entire project and if necessary implement appropriate technical modifications to ensure delivery of products/services to customers and/or stakeholders 
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Must be able to interface with individuals at all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office Product Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SharePoint)
  • Must pay attention to detail and remain alert at all times
Essential Job Functions
Work Environment: 

General Office environment:  The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.

 


Physical Requirements:

Typically employees sit comfortably to do their work, interspersed by brief periods of standing, walking, bending, and carrying papers and books, and extensive periods requiring the use of computer terminals to accomplish work objectives.


Equipment and Machines:

General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment.

 


Attendance:

Attendance is critical at all times. Must be able to work a 40-hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday.  However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur.

Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Must be able to interface with individuals at all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing. Must be willing to travel as needed. Must take and pass a drug test and background check as well as a motor vehicle records check.
